Larger, thinner, sturdy softcover, glossy wrappers, a photo portrait of Robeson in front of book shelf on front wrapper, green lettering, white back wrapper slightly soiled, praise from Saunders Redding, P.L. Phattis, Chicago Crusader and others, 128 pages. Foxing to inside back wrapper and final pages, ink owner's name at top stamped large at top front wrapper "MCINTOSH, A.C." also at top of first front end paper. Very slight surface wear to front wrapper edges, slight at spine top and bottom edges. Fair.

Inside is all clean and bright with no marks or creasing. Considered part autobiography, part manifesto. While Mr. Robeson was noted as an author of many articles and several speeches, this is his only book, intended, he said, to provide some insight into his world view, his activism, and his political stance. One of our true American heroes, a renaissance man born after slavery when our attitudes towards that institution were barely changed. 128 pages.
