"Arranged from a German picture book by Lois Donaldson" The German picture book Im Mäusehäuschen (1930) has a rhyming narration by Albert Sixtus, but the arrangement of the binding and pictures seem to be the same, with a narrower margin. Later American reprints are narrower still. Full pictures in extraordinarily bright deep colours on each spread face text and blue and brown sketches. Drama comes when Farmer Brown begins to plow!
