Spine rubbed, small scrape to spine, shelf wear to edges and corners, mottled staining to upper cover and tiny stain to lower cover, inner paper hinges cracked, some staining to pastedowns and free endpapers, small repair to first free endpaper, pale staining to top margins of pages 41-48, not affecting text, small brown stain to blank side of portrait, small early ink notes to 30 outer margins with poor legibility, a few other minor marks to margins, otherwise a very good clean copy. The volume collates: [A]² B-2D4, 2E6, 2F-3G4, 3H6. Complete with the portrait of King Charles and the final colophon leaf. This is a Variant Copy (first state?). A marginal note on Pg. 42 and lacking the note on p.41, found in most copies. Our copy matches the Folger copy listed in ESTC. T3r line 1 ends: "damned and", 2L2r line 1 begins: "by the malice", and 3F2r line 8 ends: "and hero-". Identified as STC 21906a Bound in contemporary blind ruled calf, re-backed to style. The spine with six blind stamped compartments and five raised bands. A red leather lettering piece in the second compartment from the top. The boards with some insect damage (filled in). Corners bumped. Internally a faint water-stain on the bottom edge through most of the volume. A very minor worm trail up to C at the bottom inside edge. Contemporary endpapers. The leaves a bit toned with light foxing from time to time. The volume measures 28.5 x 19.2 x 4 cm. Each leaf measures 275 x 182 mm.

Hardcover. Zustand: Good. An early 17th century edition of The New Testament, printed by Robert Young. This Testament has ruling throughout in black, and has been enhanced with 109 engraved plates bound in, in both Latin and English. Additionally bound is a defective Book of Common Prayer at the beginning, and a Book of Psalms at the end, both also early 17th century, the latter printed by G.M in London. The plates have been taken from several different works, both in Latin and English. The volume has been rebacked. The first two preliminary leaves to the Book of Common Prayer One volume in 12mo, unpaginated, (10)+80 of 91+(1 of 3) pages This volume is in good shape, with some rubbing and wear to the binding, with some leather loss to the corners, and where the clasps would have been. There is some soiling and staining throughout, with fraying and chipping to the page edges, as well as several repairs, notably to the first leaf and several plates. Several leaves are torn with some letter loss, as well as a portion lacking to a plate. Some of the page edges are frayed.
