The note also comments on Mr. Sandburg's favorably comments on Mr. Orso's work. From Wikipedia: Sophocles Papas (1894-1986) was an internationally renowned classical guitar pedagogue. Papas was a regular contributor to many scholarly music journals, especially to CRESCENDO magazine; however, he is best known for his "Method for the Classic Guitar" and his revised edition of Fernando Sor's "Sixty Short Pieces for Guitar", first published in 1963.
