Fully illustrated with 19 b/w plates, and a vast number of detailed drawings, ornamental borders, illuminated initials and smaller decorations. Has a stain to top ledge were a leather book mark was, some d/j edge scuffs, some light d/j edge wear, quite decent. These illustrations undoubtedly established Beardsley's reputation, accounting for a large proportion of his total output, for he died tragically young at the age of 25. This book is one of the early masterpieces of English prose writing, and celebrates the chivalry and romance associated with medieval times, and the court of King Arthur. The combination of classic literature and remarkable illustration make this a unique book that will appeal as much to the art-collector as to the book-lover. …
