Hardcover. Zustand: Good+: Zustand des Schutzumschlags: Good+. Dust jacket vignette (illustrator). Green cloth covers with gold stamped lettering, green end pages and paste downs. Cream colored dust jacket with vignette on front cover and lettering on front cover and spine. Book would have been in very good condition, except that there is an indentation on the top edge of the covers, especially the front cover. It looks as if the book had been struck on the top by something hard. The dent on the front cover is about 1/8" deep and 1/2" wide, but much smaller on the rear cover. The dust jacket as well, is chipped in the same spots. The dust jacket also has some soiling, especially to the front covers. This is Cavaliero's sixth collection of poetry.

Shiel, M[atthew] P[hipps]: SHAPES IN THE FIRE, Being a Mid-winter-night's Entertainment in Two Parts and an Interlude. North Yorkshire, UK: Tartarus, 2000. First Edition Thus, of the 1896 rarity plus extras. Fine hardcover in Fine dust jacket. Limited to 300 numbered copies, elegantly bound with embossed pictorial cloth, with even a bookmark ribbon. Illustrated by W. Graham Robertson. This was a needed reissue of one of the rarest of sought-after volumes of High Decadent mysteries and weird tales. Even such a well known piece as "Xelucha" is given in other editions in a shortened version, and here's the complete tale. Most of the content will be completely unknown to everyone, the true first edition is so impossibly rare. Alas with only 300 copies this special edition doesn't, a decade later, make these works exactly easy to get. The 1896 John Lane Bodley Head original values around $1,300. The Tartarus limited catalogs in the $275 to $500 range. Author and Decadence expert Brian Stableford provides an introductory essay, "Jaunting on the Scoriac Tempests and Reeling Bullions of Hell.

Hardcover. Zustand: As New. Zustand des Schutzumschlags: As New. Limited Edition. Cannon, Peter: FOREVER AZATHOTH AND OTHER HORRORS. North Yorkshire: Tartarus Press, 1999. First Edition, As New in As New dust jacket, one of 250 numbered copies, SIGNED by the author. A big collection of short stories divided into sections, beginning with pastiches of H. P. Lovecraft and concluding with a section of amusing tales that place P. G. Wodehouse's character of Jeeves in Lovecraftian circumstances. A brilliant collection. Not many copies of this remain in the marketplace. Originally issued at $55 it was quickly out of print, and catalogs were listing it over $100 a year later. Recent catalogs have listed it for a whopping $650, and recently a copy was offered as a "buy it now" item on eBay for a startling $930 -- which is overdoing it more than a bit, though the way it's going, it will be worth a thousand in a couple more years.
