Stationary; 11 x 8 1/2; single sheet, illustrated with vignettes of the Ethnology, Horticultural, Agricultural, and Machinery & Transportation buildings, and of the Electric Tower; very minor wear - in near fine condition.A beautiful Pan-American Exposition memento, it was published in connection with that World's Fair, which was held from May 1 through November 2 of 1901 in Buffalo, New York. Although noted for its numerous technological and art exhibits, the fair would be best remembered as the location, where President William McKinley was assasinated on September 6. Ironically, the newly-developed X-ray machine first shown at that exhibition, though suggested - would not be used on the president by the doctors in search of the bullets, as they were unfamiliar with it and feared side effects. He would die 8 days later from gangrene, caused by the bullet wounds.

Approximately 36 coated pages of illustrations in sepia and B&W of scenery along the routes of the Union Pacific and its connections. The Oregon Short Line, Oregon Railway and Navigation Co., Central Pacific and the Shasta Route. Views of Omaha, Denver, Cheyenne, Weber Canyon, Salt Lake City, Yellowstone, Columbia River, Shasta, Wawona and Yosemite. Center page is loose else fine and clean. Nicer than usually found souvenir album.

Inside the folded panels are 24 views of the 1904 Saint Louis World's Fair, most in an accordion fold format. Bound in thin black cardboard with gilt lettering and decoration. Quite scarce . Book with light covers fading; small chip to one panel edge; bit of discoloration to rear cover top; light edge wear. NEAR FINE.

Gilt letters on the front panel which also has a mounted oval photo of the Colorado Building. Very miinor wear to extremities, gilt slightly dulled, cover photo slightly soiled, slight wrinkle in the photo which attaches the string to the front cover (a flaw that occurred in the binding process), one separation to folds, all photos present and in fine condition, else very good to near fine with no internal markings. See Michael Coveney's obituary in the Guardian, 10 August 2011, which states that Wood was 'one of the greatest stage actors of the past century', and that he 'returned to the West End in 1961 as Henry Albertson in the whimsical off-Broadway musical The Fantasticks, at the Apollo'. 86pp, 4to. Each act separately paginated. Duplicated and bound with metal studs into black waxed-card wraps, with each page on the recto of a separate leaf. Title 'THE FANTASTICKS' printed on front cover, with details of the Studio Duplicating Service. In good condition, lightly aged, in lightly creased wraps. Title-page: 'The Fantasticks / A Parable About Love / Words by / Tom Jones / Music By / Harvey L. Schmidt / This is suggested by a play called "Les Romanesques" by Edmund [sic] Rostand'. 'JOHN WOOD' is written in large capitals in pencil at top right of title-page. On the reverse of the last leaf, in blue ink, and certainly in Wood's hand (he has a distinctive way of writing a capital J) is 'John Cater Girl 9171'. P.37 of the first act has two additions in Wood's hand: 'I nearly forgot' and 'That's my light . . . .' The rest of the page is covered in pencil notes and doodles in another hand, with words and measurements suggesting a scene builder or set designer. The reverse of p.17 of the second act is covered with stage plans in blue ink. He has also added, on p.29 of act one, the direction for his character 'Henry' (Henry Albertson, 'The Old Actor') to act 'wounded'. And p.32 of the second hand has an addition in another hand in blue ink: 'HENRY: / Hello'.
