He closed his career with five years on the faculty of The National War College. He was an active participant with Dr. Jay Luvaas' Civil War group, nicknamed "The Army of the Cussewago". This book presents a different concept of the way that historical biographies may be written. In this book, the author, a former Director of Military History at The National War College, encapsulates the dominant personalities of the Civil War and many of the events into easily read pages.
