Colour photographs throughout, b/w illustrations by the author, pictorial end-papers. Black boards, spine & upper board titled & decorated in silver-gilt. Fine new copy in dust-wrapper, signed by the author. 'Fine Line to Lunacy' has been written for the carp fisher who has at times suffered from obsession. The chapters feature an enthusiastic spell of carp fishing made by the author between 1998 and 2010, where paths led to the most challenging of this country's stillwaters. These include Wraysbury Number One, the Yateley Car Park lake, and 'The Brook' in Kent, as well as other unknown syndicate venues, busy council-run waters and lakes off the beaten track. These accounts from back then feature some of the most admirable examples of the species present in the venues that the true addict could fish at the time. Chapters include: A good year; Wraysbury Number One; The strong survive; Into the unknown; A lesson in reduction; Coincidence in the capture; Maize Spot; Enter the Brook. .

ALL UK PARCELS SENT TRACKED! ALL OVERSEAS PARCELS SENT AIRMAIL, TRACKED! (S/hand, Hardcover, 2010). 2010 1st edition. 8vo (160 x 240mm). Ppxvi,152. Colour and b/w photographs. Brown boards, upper board and spine titled in gilt. Edition limited to 250 cloth-bound copies. Fine in slightly used dust-wrapper. Signed by Martin Mumby. Numbered copy from an edition limited to only 250 cloth-bound copies. Laid in are the complete set of six postcards that were issued with the book. "Derrick Davenport was born on the 15th of June 1921. He caught his first fish at about 2 years of age in a penny net, a three spined stickleback. At the time it was the most wondrous thing that existed and he rushed home with the obligatory jam-jar to show his Dad. At that moment a love was born, a love that persisted when other loves, throughout a long life, have died or mellowed. Since that day Derrick has travelled the world catching specimen fish of many species but is always happy to return home to his beloved Hampshire Avon where he enjoys nothing more than float fishing with 'pin and cane'. Make no mistake, Derrick is one of angling's most extraordinary characters, and admits he is lucky to be alive after flying and skiing stunts he has survived. The reason he has survived is because behind his slightly eccentric exterior lies a very intelligent, gifted and determined individual whose humble modesty endears him to all those that meet him." Produced in a limited edition of only 290 copies (the first 40 were bound in leather) it sold out very fast. The author sadly passed away just a few days before the books were delivered from the printers. With a foreword by Fred J. Taylor and an introduction by John Searl. .

ALL UK PARCELS SENT TRACKED! ALL OVERSEAS PARCELS SENT AIRMAIL, TRACKED! (S/hand, Hardcover, 2011). 2011 1st edition. 8vo (178 x 245mm). Ppvi,168,ad. B/w illustrations by the author, foreword by John Bailey. Blue boards, upper board and spine titled in gilt with gilt kingfisher motif. Edition limited to only 390 numbered copies. Fine in dust-wrapper. Signed by the author. Original set of four postcards and bookmark laid in. Tom's Book was a personal project - written, illustrated and designed purely for the author's son. Those who saw it finally persudaded Olsen to publish his book to a wider audience. "It is a very personal view of fishing involving friends, barbel, grayling, chub and salmon from the Wye valley, carp and tench from hidden pools, trout from streams, crazy thoughts, fun and a meeting with Bernard Venables that brought his childhood fishing full circle. Through 'Tom's Book' he has brought together his love for water, the written word, typography and illustration into a single volume." Beautifully illustrated and very well written this book comes thoroughly recommended. .
