Most of us, if not all of us, go through life seeing things that we don't understand happen. I was like that as well. However, one day I came to understand life. I came to understand why things happened to me in the past. I came to understand why things are happening to me now, and I came to understand what to expect in the future. A person gets hit by a car and survives. Or a person skydives from ten thousand feet, their parachute doesn't open, and yet they survive. People are quick to say that that person was lucky. They weren't lucky. Luck had nothing to do with it. They survived because they were saved by God. I too have a story like that to tell. On November 3, 1984, I was walking home on the shoulder of a road when I was hit from behind by a car. I suffered seven fractures to my left leg, four fractures to my pelvis, and a closed head injury. I spent three weeks in a coma, four weeks connected to a lifesupport machine, seven months in the hospital, and two and a half years in rehabilitation. I eventually came out of coma, and I recovered to a point where I could live a normal life, although I lost my sense of smell due to my brain damage. I did this because I was saved by God, not because I was lucky. That experience gave me a greater appreciation of life and an incredible desire to seek a relationship with God. I have achieved both, and both have been inspirational in the poems I have written. I hope that you will enjoy them. God bless you. …

Throughout all my interactions and travels with Iroijlaplap Jabro, I have seen this man as one who affects the outcome of destiny through his interaction with many of his people or with just about anyone. He could be reserved if he chooses to be, and he could be so direct in his conversation that at certain times, one could see the 'blush on his or her face.' In his dealing with people, he could be your best friend and your worst enemy. Iroijlaplap Jabro likes telling it this way, 'I don't write things down, but I keep everything up here,' pointing his fingers at his head. Intelligent and witty in his own ways and sharp as a razor blade, in dealing with him you know you are in the presence of a man who has had his walks around the block and walks the walk and talks the talk. Most of all, he is fair in his dealings with people. He is the 'kindly king,' who goes out of his way to those who are in need of his services. He has been known to say, 'I am only good as a servant to my people.'.…

However, I was intrigued by the reference to it and flying and guards who needed to be sedated. Over the next hour or so, the details were revealed to me of a plot being financed by the Australian government and a television network to kidnap the financial refugee Christopher Skase from his Mediterranean hideaway and bring him home to answer criminal charges. I have related the story of the kidnap attempt as I saw it unfold and as the Chameleon's team revealed the details to me. If I have recorded some aspects wrongly, then I am amiss. Where I was not able to ascertain the facts or to check their accuracy, I admit I used my imagination to fill in. If I have misrepresented anyone in so doing, then I am truly contrite. But it has, I hope you agree, made for a pretty good yarn.…
