A collection of Letters, photographs and Negatives Circa 1940's/early 50's

There are an initial 19 mss. letters from a variety of people. Among them: Noelle with an address at Mullaghmeen, Enniskillen in which she refers to someone having to go to hospital, the R.A.F. and various dances she has been to or is going to including an upcoming one being organised by the Americans; "Mammy" at Coagh (?) Enniskillen; Marjorie H. Dickson, who it seems was at one point in her life a student at Alexandra College and played centre half on their hockey team and lived at Auburn, Greystones, County Wicklow. She refers to how her health is and the weather and about going cycling with him on Sunday to Powerscourt & the possibility of going to Trinity College. She also stresses the confidential nature "as always" about what she is telling him. She also sent him letters from the Rectory Rathcormac in County Cork. Other correspondence is from his friend Johnny from an address at Feering Lodge, Feering, Near Colchester, Essex. much of the communication is about frends and family, moods, sport and personal and social matters. A second batch of 13 letters are msotly addressed to Spencer at addresses in Kelvedon, Nr. Colchester, Essex during a period he went there to work. These letters too are from Marjorie in which she gives him news from home She comments in one how his mother at Kilquade house was jokingly telling her and others about the love letters his father used to send his mother. Marjorie says she knows where he got it from now. In addtion there are 14 photographs and 4 negatives. About 12 of the images are contemporary to the period and incluude Spencer with others at Kilquade House garden and elsewhere. There's also some views of Wicklow. For the most part images are 9 x 6 cms.It seems that Spencer may have been involvewd in market gardening and with plants and seeds at a point in his life. A Kilquade house Still exists not far from Druids Glen Golf club, The Russian village and Kilpedder. There does not seem to be much information about it.
