His work on 'the inclosure of common fields' was published in 1766, and was followed a year later by this important piece on inland communication. Homer acknowledges in his dedication that his conclusions were based on his observations of the two turnpike roads 'from Dunchurch . to Stonebridge' and 'from Finford . to Banbury'.
