This is the rare true first edition, not to be confused with "Cowboy Life in Texas" which is the 2nd ed. I've only seen five other copies of the 1st. Herd 1159, Howes W51, Rader 2067(lists the 1898 ed.) Graff 2194, Merrill Aristocrat, Jenkins BTB 104. "The author was born on his father's ranch in Tarrant County near Fort Worth.
