Artikelbeschreibung des Verkäufers

Seattle: Aerial Phenomena Research Group, 1957. First Edition of the April, 1957 issue, Vol. 1, No.4. From the collection of UFOlogist Max Miller. Quarto, corner stapled legal paper, 6 pp. Mailing folds, mild age-toning; Very Good Plus. The fourth issue ever of the APRG Reporter, edited by the rising editorial star of UFOlogy, Robert Gribble, later to become NICAP director and editor of the NICAP Reporter; this publication itself, in fact, later evolved into Interplanetary and then ultimately the NICAP Reporter. Gribble's thoughtfulness, clear-sightedness and information-orientation gave his issues a value not found to the same degree in other publications of the genre in the fifties. The lengthy legal paper used in the A.P.R.G. Reporter gave him more room for more contributions, and by this time he did have contributors: Olavo Fontes herein continues his "Brazilian UFO Review" department, and Carol Honey's ambitiously title department, The Universe, here talks about meteors and Comet 1956h, discovered by Arend and Roland. Gribble's reporting in this issue includes "British Radar Picks Up Flying Object"; "Mass of Flame Hurtles Through Space, Hits Peak Near Anchorage, Alaska"; "Expert Says UFOs Are Myth"; "U.S. Scientist Challenged on Nixing Flying Objects"; "Head of NASA Backs Down On Flying Disc Claim"; "UFO Prober Charges U.S. Hushes Investigation Data"; "What Was It?"; "Lakewood, California Citizens See 75 Flying Objects"; and a variety of other shorts by Gribble. Serious output at a time in UFOlogy history when that direction was much needed and valued. From the collection of Max Miller, founder of Flying Saucers International and editor of its publication, "Saucers". L103.…
