Bruce Henstell was born, raised and educated in Los Angles. He holds degrees from UC Berkeley (B.A.) and the University of Michigan (M.A.). He served on the staff of the American Film Institute's Center for Advanced Film Studies and published a book entitled AMERICAN FILM CRITICISM. He has written for numerous publications including the New York Times and Los Angeles Magazine. His specialty and chief interest is the history of his native city.
