FIRST EDITION. 4to. (24 cm.) 96p. Illustrated with fine black and white drawings by Ingrid Fetz. Blue cloth with black letters on the spine and with a vignette in black on the front cover of two boys, one Black and one White, standing in front of "Taco Lita" with one boy resting his hand on the back of a dog. Just touches of wear to extremities with one corner just barely rubbed through, cloth clean and bright, all illustrations in fine condition, else near fine to fine with no internal markings. Jacket has two-inch tear near the bottom of the spine, but is all there and otherwise very good and better. With an M.A. in English from the State University of Iowa and a PhD. in Comparative Literature from Occidental College, Los Angeles, John Durham was a high school teaching and a college professor. He was a resident writer on a special LA School District project to produce high interest, easy reading textbooks designed to meet the needs of disadvantage students. The idea for ME AND ARCH AND THE PEST grew out of this work. Durham also wrote QUEEN OF DIAMONDS and several short stories.
