A privately printed address bound in half pigskin over boards. The pigskin is rubbed as usual. About 45 pages of text. A fairly uncommon and desirable item printed in unknown but likely fairly small quantities. This copy has some historical provenance in that it has a bookplate on the front pastedown. Ex Libris Charles Francis Adams 1905 and John Quincy Adams 1831. Charles Francis Adams Jr. (May 27, 1835 - May 20, 1915) was a member of the prominent Adams family, and son of Charles Francis Adams Sr. He served as a colonel in the Union Army during the American Civil War . The name of the Adams family appear in several places within the speech and text, and this copy was likely a gift to the family. The text is reasonably clean, but there is some scattered foxing and one of the endpapers is missing. There are a couple of unobtrusive pencil notations. Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers AshAir2023
