Green cloth with stamped gilt titles, 9 inches tall, 136 pages, illustrated by the author with color and b/w plates. The bindings are tight and square. Text clean, light even toning. Minimal shelf handling wear. The Dust Jacket is with the price of $2.50 has age-toned with wear and soiling on the perimeter with a small loss at the top of the spine. and is in a new clear protective Mylar sleeve. Gustav Vasa, is celebrated as a hero who liberated Sweden from Danish control. Hendrik Willem van Loon was a Dutch-American historian and journalist. He was a professor of history at Cornell University (1915-17) Writing many other popular books aimed at young adults, he was known for emphasizing crucial historical events and giving a complete picture of individual characters, as well as the role of the arts in history. Edges of boards are well thumbed and rubbed. Head and tail of spine bumped, head corners also bumped, rounded and, bear some wear and tear. Binding is neat and tidy. Front cover bear some white discolouration at thead corner (see image). Free endpapers, pastedowns, title pages and most pages throughout bear some discolouration, yet more so at the free endpapers. Page edges are moderately discoloured, particularly at the head edge.
