First edition in this form. This is the much scarcer, large-sized edition (10.25 inches by 7.5 inches) prepared by master binder, Frederick Kranz and containing 328 pages. Full brown leather covered boards (not limp), with the binder's initials stamped near the bottom of the front cover, and two raised bands on the spine. Top edge gilt. A Fair to Good copy. Leather cover has wear along edges and front joint, and there's a dark spot or stain near the upper front corner. Interior hinges are sound and there are no marks/writing of prior ownership. All illustrations and their accompnying tissue guards are present. There is a faint, but persistent tidemark present at the bottom of most pages, generally affecting about the bottom half-inch, but rising a bit higher on a handful pages at the center of the book.
