Six issues complete with covers: July 1928 Volume XXXI Number 10, through December 1928 Volume XXXII Number 3, all professionally bound in red cloth with gilt spine lettering. These rare issues report on Bobby Jones in his heyday, the late twenties, leading up to his glorious Grand Slam year of 1930. July begins with a "Tribute to Bobby Jones' style by Holderness, two articles by Bernard Darwin, one being about Hagen's Open win at Sandwich, profile of Banff in Alberta Canada, swing sequence of Tommy Armour, August is a tribute to Johnny Farrell the US Open champion at Olympia Fields after a thirty-six hole playoff against Bobby Jones. September sees a tribute to Brae Burn near Boston for the upcoming Amateur championship and a related article "Jones Against the Field", Montauk Downs on the tip of Long Island opens. October celebrates Bobby Jones winning the US Amateur, Bobby Jones Captain of and detailed article on the Walker Cup. November features an article by Max Behr on Golf Architecture, Leo Diegel defeats Walter Hagen for the PGA Championship. December has a superb article by Grantland Rice "A Close-up of Bobby Jones". Cloth binding in fine condition, original magazine covers bright, all show signs of original folding, although now lie flat after years in the binding. Covers protected in Mylar.
