(1751-1831), b. at Framingham, Mass., graduated at Yale College in 1772. He served as a Chaplain in the Navy during the Revolution for two years, became pastor of the First Congregational Society at West Bridgewater, MA., in 1780, and was elected as a Federalist to the Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth Congresses (1794-1801). He resumed his pastoral duties in 1801, and was pastor at West Bridgewater until his death in 1831. In 1803 Brown University awarded him a doctorate degree.
