Beschreibung
An interesting work regarding the parish of West Taring, notably containing a life of Thomas A Becket. With a leaf of publisher's advertisements to the rear of the work. The first edition of the work, in the original publisher's cloth. Written by John Wood Water, the vicar of West Tarring. The work offers an interesting history regarding Tarring in West Sussex. The work is most notable for its description of the life of former Archbishop of Canterbury, Thomas A Becket, who allegedly planted a fig orchard in the area. In the original brown publisher's cloth. Externally generally smart with slight loss to the head and tail of the spine. Slight splitting to the backstrip. Indent to spine. Ink inscription to front free endpaper. Internally generally firmly bound, slightly strained in places. Pages bright and clean with just the odd spot. Good. Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers 822K13
