First Edition (first printing) of this Sir John Appleby detective story. 8vo. 152pp. Blue cloth with dulled lettering to the spine. Cloth marked and handed and backstrip considerably discoloured, yet soundly bound and really quite crisp internally, and housed in a surprisingly good example of the classic Gollancz yellow dust wrapper, just a touch faded at the spine panel and very lightly rubbed at one or two extremities.
