Back of DJ notes over 275 ML titles, and inverse of DJ state 291 titles. Interestingly, someone has reported there's an alleged DJ for this title with 284 titles on the inverse, which would date this book to some time in 1942, however, this title wasn't released until March 1943, which is in-line with 291 listed title on inverse; and why 291 titles on inverse is considered the standard for first edition points of first printing DJ's. Just thought it was worth mentioning, as it has long been rumored yet evidence of 284 titles remains sketchy, at best. As for this copy it is fine. Binding and hinges are strong and sound. Toledano binding #8. Endpapers are bright and clean. Book would grade as-new if not for a vintage, small, neatly written previous owner's name on the half-title page, near the top, and dated 6.24.43. Otherwise book is about flawless. DJ shows virtually no flaws, just most minimal evidence of handling. A beautiful first modern library edition, stated, first printing, in like DJ with 291 titles listed on DJ inverse; and over 275 listed on rear, with 95 cents price intact. Fine/NF+.
