1st edition. Cr. 8vo , c. 7 x 7 inches, pp. 300 (+ 4 headed 'Blank') + 19 col. plates + 20 b&w plates, illustrations in text, illustrated endpapers, sprinkled edges, hardback in dustwrapper. Condition - VG. contents very clean, no foxing, no inscriptions, ex-lib with one stamp on title page but no other stamps/marks/ etc , innner hinges intact, line of old Sellotape (tape removed), used to affix dustwrapper, down front and back inner boards ; original, dark-red cloth with gilt title to spine and front and gilt illustration of ground beetle on front board, very clean front and back and with some indistinct lines of previous Sellotape, spine is complete with next to no wear and with bright gilt. Dustwrapper condition - VG., light rubbing of corners and edges, small crease mark at top of back hinge, very clean, spine complete with no fading and with no old library marks ; d/w now on clear, removable, paper-backed wrapper.
