Leather. Zustand: Good. None (illustrator). A copy of The Bijou; or Annual of Literature and the Arts published by William Pickering. With numerous black and white illustrations. William Pickering (2 April 1796 27 April 1854) was an English publisher, notable for introducing cloth binding to British publishing. Pickering began working as an antiquarian bookseller before 1820, and quickly moved into publishing. In a red calf leather binding with beige paper covered boards. Externally, sound with slight rubbing. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean. There is a bookseller's paper label to the front pastedown.
