First American hardcover edition, published by Random House, 1948. Babar's cousin comes for a visit and causes all kinds of mischief! No dust jacket. 48 pages, 8" X 11-1/4". Hardcover boards show wear to the tips of the corners and head and heel of the spine, with some dots of exposure to the boards beneath. Former owner's name written in ink on the top of the first flyleaf, and a gift dedication to that former owner on the copyright page - dated 1969. But no further writing besides that. The last two pages of the text have lots of age foxing spots - see photos. Sewn binding is tight and all text pages are intact. Not a library discard copy.
