The first edition of Edmund Snell's Borneo-set adventure novel, in the very scarce exceptionally bright illustrated dust wrapper. The first edition, first impression, in the publisher's original dust wrapper, price unclipped. The work of English author Edmund Snell, who specialised in oriental thrillers and mysteries. This work is a macabre adventure set in Borneo, and features the death of an alcoholic and unprincipled British plantation owner in the remote jungle. The tale is noticeably reminiscent of Conrad's 'Heart of Darkness'. In the publisher's original cloth binding, with price unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, excellent, with spotting to perimeters of text block. Dust wrapper back strip significantly age toned, with small loss to head of back strip and minor chips to head of front wrap. Light handling marks to rear wrap. Partially removed price sticker to back strip tail. Internally, firmly bound.
