A first edition copy of this uncommon and interesting work regarding the Fifth Indian Division during the Second World War. The first edition of this work in the publisher's original cloth binding, with the original unclipped dust wrapper. The remarkable history of the Fifth Indian Division during the Second World War, written by the British military historian Antony Brett-James (1920-1984), and illustrated throughout with maps and illustrations. The Division played a notable part in holding back Rommel's forces from the Nile Valley and fighting against the Japanese in Burma, as well as being the first into Singapore after the Japanese surrender. In the publisher's original cloth binding, with the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, cloth is smart and bright, with very light shelf wear to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Dust wrapper is generally smart, with light chipping and creasing to the upper extremities and shelf wear to the folds. A little discoloration to the spine of the wraps.
