2nd Canadian Edition, First impression, green cloth variation. xi, [3], 15-146 pp + 10 plates (including frontis)pp. Octavo. Green cloth boards with gilt stamped lettering and decoration on spine and front cover. Inset on the front board, near the top upper left, is a green tinted photograph of a man sitting against the doorpost of a cabin with a hat and a gun in his hand and a dog beside him (10.5 X 7.4 cm). The ends of spine and corners are very lightly bumped. Very slight discolouration to endpapers caused by dust jacket. Top edge gilt with bottom edge trimmed roughly and long outer edge untrimmed. Some foxing to front flyleaf and page following as well as some pages throughout. Contains 10 B/W photographic plates, each with the original annotated tissue leaf accompanying it intact (this includes frontis). Text block is clean and tight. In green dust jacket with some minor professional restoration done to edges. The jacket is faded to a yellowish colour with only the inner flaps remaining the original green. A nice copy. near fine A2 b. (pp. 64) in Mitham (first ed.). Content is identical to that of the first Canadian edition save for the addition of the photographic plates.
