8 + 282 pages, illustrated, this is the 1st USA edition of Waugh's story of Bangkok, its history and culture, its customs and politics, its geography, sights and people. This copy was once in the library of the Finnish poet and sometime bookseller, Rubio Tapani Lindroos (1949-2014), and thus has several usual ex-library evidence, eg label on spine, ex libris label on verso of ffep, rubber stamp with manuscript entries and some tippex applications on copyright page. SIGNED by Lindroos opposite to the ex libris label with two locations and dates "Brisbane, Qld 9.4.75" and "Bangkok April 1975". Bookseller stamp also on that same page. Year of publication "1971" has been added in pen below the publisher's locations on the title page. Jacket now poly-protected though semi-permanently so; marks on jacket front and rear which show through the poly protection; sellotape which holds the spine label in place extends on front and rear on top of the poly; creasing along top edges. Book is for the most part very good apart from the negatives surrounding the former library element, signature and dates etc. as above. Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers 4768
