356 Pages. The bottom cover corner has some shelf rubbing. No other defects noted. Solid Bullets listed are to be used for target shooting. Those over .300 caliber are recommended for dangerous game. Back in 1932, Fred Barnes couldn't find a bullet he liked, so he designed his own. Fred's new bullet worked so well on elk and deer that word got out. Soon his friends wanted to use them. When Fred found how fast his list of "friends" was growing, he decided he'd better go into the bullet-making business. Handloading was in its infancy then, and Fred became the first custom supplier of bullets for the handful of shooters who insisted on loading their own ammunition. His bullets were used in North America and Africa - and always with positive results. Barnes Bullets, Inc. is the oldest and, at one time, was the largest privately owned bullet component manufacturer in the country. When Fred sold the business the name was changed to Colorado Bullets. When Randy and Coni Brooks purchased the company in 1974 they changed the name back to Barnes Bullets, and continued to build bullets the way Fred Barnes did. The bullets continued to perform well, but a few years later the Brooks couple felt it was time for a change. While hunting in Alaska Randy came up with the idea for a trouble free reliably functioning hunting bullet. And that was to use solid material and bore out a cavity that would let the bullet open easily when it hit the target. The design eliminated separation of the jacket and lead core and jacket fragmentation, providing superior weight retention and accuracy. Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers 23215
