New York: Sotheby & Co, 1999. Brand New in a Brand New slipcase. COMPLETE with PRICES REALIZED BOOKLET (sets offered WITH the auction results, as here, are VERY uncommon). Perfect condition. Just removed from the publisher's clear plastic SHRINKWRAP so we could write this description. A gorgeous 3 volume set, complete with prices realized booklet. NO rubbing. NO fading. Bright, shiny, clean, square and tight. Sharp corners. NO owner's name or bookplate. NO remainder mark. NOT a library discard. Fresh and crisp -- obviously never read. 1999. First Edition. 3 volumes: Contents - Information Volume (ii, 53pp). The Early Years (ii, 471pp). The Modern Era (ii, 400pp) plus a 25-page booklet of prices realized. This amazing baseball collection consisted of 2,481 lots that were sold at auction over 16 sessions from September 23-29, 1999. From the publisher: "THE BARRY HALPER COLLECTION OF BASEBALL MEMORABILIA will not be seen together anywhere except in this limited edition three-volume, slipcased catalogue of the auction. The catalogue has over 2,000 photographs, most of them in color, and detailed descriptions of each lot with auction price estimate. The catalogue also has personal commentary on the Collection by Yogi Berra and Ted Williams. This catalogue is more than just a detailed record of the Halper Collection. It is a comprehensive volume documenting the rich history of our national pastime, and has been designed to be an essential addition to any baseball library. As a piece of baseball history, the Halper catalogue is a collection in itself and will not be reprinted once the initial supply is gone." Oversize Softcover, housed in the original full-color pictorial board slipcase. 8.5" wide by 11" tall by 2.25" thick. This heavy 3 volume set will require extra postage for Priority and International shipments. Shop-Beschreibung

About Books [Genny and Michael Winne, proprietors, formerly of Parsippany, New Jersey) has been selling rare and out of print books since 1985. Besides book fairs and mail order catalogue, long-time collectors and dealers will remember our lengthy For Sale ads in the Antiquarian Bookman and similar magazines. Our inventory of more than 40,000 volumes is especially strong in the specialities listed, but contains fine books in a variety of other fields as well. Because most of our books are stored in protective boxes, rather than on shelves, they cannot be viewed as a whole. If you want to examine specific titles, please provide 24 hours notice and we will make them available for your inspection. Phone calls to (702) 750-2722 are welcome, but please only between the hours of 8am and 10pm, west coast time. Our phone is a landline that cannot receive texts.
