Small 4to. Faux vellum with gilt lettering, slipcase with wraparound paper label. (Ca. 75pp). 32 full-page color plates, single sepia-tone plate. Near fine/very good. Faint slipcase wear only. Handsome first of this edition, introduced by the Metropolitan's noted director and with Cloisters curator Margaret B. Freeman providing explanatory texts for each of its color plates.
