True first British printing with original clipped jacket. Illustrated by Stead. All illustrations are present and in very good condition. Jacket has faults - namely edge/shelf wear, a few small (approx. 5mms) tears, small patchy loss (mainly to head/tail of spine and to corners), a little creasing/rubbing to edges, few marks, a few small patches of loss to top (picture) surface, little pushing/rubbing to head/tail of spine, patchy browning/old damp marks/odd spot of foxing to reverse (white side), little pushing/bumping to corners, little creasing/rubbing to front/back inner flaps and is in only good condition. Boards are near fine (having been well protected by the jacket) with a hint of pushing to corners, the odd small mark and minor pushing/rubbing to head/tail of spine. Pages are generally clean and the binding is tight. Pages are slightly tanned. One feint old damp mark to top edge of pages. Very occasional small mark to pages. No other faults. A nice copy.
