True first British printing with original clipped jacket. Illustrated by R. J. MacDonald. 238 pages plus two pages of publisher''s adverts to rear. Jacket has faults - namely edge/shelf wear, few tears, a little fading to spine, creasing/rubbing to edges, numerous marks, a little pushing/rubbing to head/tail of spine, pushing/bumping to corners (which has resulted in a little loss), patchy browning, minor foxing, a little browning/minor foxing/few small marks to reverse (white side), patchy browning/foxing/marks/creasing to front/back inner flaps and is in only good condition. Boards are near fine (having been well protected by the jacket) with a hint of pushing to corners and minor pushing/fading/rubbing to head/tail of spine. Pages are generally clean and the binding is tight. Pages are a bit tanned. One tiny piece missing from top corner of one page. Odd small mark/minor foxing to page edges, tops and bottoms. One small patch of loss to lower edge of half-title page which also has a neat gift inscription and date in pen. Previous owner's name crossed through in pen to front end-paper which also has a date in pen. Very occasional small mark/spot of foxing to pages. No other faults.
