A near fine book with no defects noted. Interior text and illustration pages are flawless. Red pebbled leatherette covers with gold lettering on the spine and cover. Dust jacket has some small chunks out and tape repairs have been made however it is complete including the flaps. The paintings by 23 artists - among them outstanding bird artists of the world - were made especially for this book. . Also includes brief notes on the status of each species in neighboring states of Nebraska, Kansas, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming. Map of Colorado on the back end papers. The authors Alfred M. Bailey, Director, and Robert J. Niedrach, Curator of Birds, of the Denver Museum of Natural History, have shared field experiences in Colorado and far places of the world for more than forty years.
