Written by British ornithologist Thomas Hudson Nelson, with this being his best-known and most celebrated work. Comprised of a historical account of the avifauna of the county of Yorkshire, being a detailed study of bird habits and habitats. Nelson had an extensive collection of birds and eggs, which included over one-hundred mounted bird specimens and guillemot eggs.Illustrated with a colour frontispiece and title page to each volume, and with one-hundred and sixty-one monochrome plates. Collated, complete.Library stamp from 'William and Flora Richardson Library'. Bound in the publisher's original cloth. Externally, excellent, with slight bumping to the extremities and spine. A little fading to the spine. Bookseller label to the front paste down of volume I and library stamp to the front and rear paste downs of both volumes. Internally, firmly bound.
