Unclipped 1st issue dust jacket showing 7s 6d net, as called for, is in good condition with loss to the bottom edge of the front panel approx 20mm (at worst point), also some loss to head and tail of spine, nicks to corners, several closed tears, creasing to bottom of front panel of wrapper. Original orange cloth boards have bumped corners and fading to the edges of the boards. Internally contents are clean, tight and square. No inscriptions, possibly one or two spots internally. First UK edition, first printing. Publisher's original orange cloth with black titles to the spine, in dustwrapper. A very good or better copy, the binding firm with some bumping to the spine tips, the cloth bright and fresh. The contents, with toning to the wartime economy paper (pulp), one page with a vertical mark, are otherwise clean throughout and without inscriptions or stamps. Complete with the lightly rubbed and nicked dustwrapper that has several short closed tears to the edges and some darkening and a few marks to the rear panel. Not price-clipped (7s 6d net to the lower front flap). The sixth crime novel by the Australian born sisters Constance and Gwyneth Little. (Hubin; Curran, John: The Hooded Gunman).
