Did an exhaustive search of the Internet trying to find another copy of this book. No luck. Just POD's & e-books. Tried to check on the publisher (Platt and Peck) for first edition identification information and couldn't find anything. I'm presuming this is a first edition based on the 'no additional printings' (NAP) criteria. 1913 is the only date on the copyright page. Nothing on the title page but there is an inscription on the front free end paper dated 1914. So the book is over 100 years old. Take a look at the photographs. It certainly doesn't show its age. Looks terrific. The gilt design and lettering on the spine and front are still quite bright. The covers have very little wear. There is No rub-through at the corners, no wear at all actually. And the interior of the book is consistent with the covers. Foremost, it is very well bound. There are no issues, no cracks, no webbing, no looseness, anywhere. And the pages are in excellent condition. The end papers have some darkening and that's it. No soiling anywhere. No darkening of any of the other pages. No writing/underlining anywhere excepting the aforementioned inscription. No markings on any of the pages. No creases. This is a small book 6 1/2 by 4 1/2 inches. Here's an odd thing. This book was part of a series titled 'The Inspiration Books'. The front cover and title page give the title and then 'By Thomas Tapper'. But on the page opposite the title page there's a box with a list of 'The Inspiration Books, Edited by Thomas Tapper' and then there's a list of titles, underneath which is the presumed name of the authors. Thomas Tapper is the name on several of these books, but under the title The Boy As A Citizen it says 'By George Cecil Baldwin'. I tried looking up the title on various book sites under Baldwin's name and nothing came up, not even POD's or e-books. A mystery to me. Anyway, singularly rare, one-of-a-kind, 'The Boy As A Citizen', 1913. The inscription, by the way, is from 'Rev. C.M. Addison. There are quite a few people with that name around, or once around, but there's an article from 1919 that references a Reverend Doctor C. M. Addison, of St. John's, Stamford, Conn. That's fairly close to where I am so it's probably him. Bestandsnummer des Verkäufers 000610
