A likely first edition--the copyright page lists only the first three titles of this series, all published in 1908 and not the 1909 title. However, this is a format #2 book (format #1 had "Reilly & Britton Co." on the spine, and only the first two titles were so published). The exterior is square and reasonably clean, with moderately bumped head and heel of the spine and lightly bumped lower front corners (all without fabric damage), no dings on edges and virtually no lower edge wear. Front cover images/lettering undamaged. Except for an extremely possessive boy's name ink-stamped 7 times on the end pages, the interior is clean and free of writing, stray marks, stains of any kind, and damaged pages; the hinges are strong and the paper is very flexible.
