This VG- quality possible first printing 181 page book was published by G. P. Putnam & Sons in autumn 1929. It is square, extremely clean, free of corner bumps and edge dings; the head and heel of the spine are lightly bumped with no fabric damage; the bottom edges and both bottom corners have a very slight amount of wear; the top front corner also has a hint of wear. Both hinges are strong, undamaged and intact. Except for an inked 1932 inscription on the blank page following the FFEP, the interior is completely free of writing, stray marks, stains of any sort and paper damage of any type. The paper has very slight toning and is quite flexible. There are numerous photographs and small sketches interspersed with the text. The G+ quality jacket has numerous small edge chips along both top and bottom edges--none take out more than one or two letters and the largest chip is at the bottom of the rear panel, a triangle 1" x 1-1/2" x 1-3/4". This is one of a series of books published by Putnam in the 1920's and 1930's written by teen-aged boys going on amazing adventures all over the world. They are, invariably, rather good reading and are well illustrated with photographs and illustrations. Dick, 17, describes his experiences hunting and fishing in Alaska.
