Fine-looking, structurally sound hardcover, bound in a tall, nearly square, oblong format, 12" tall x 12 1/4" wide, little discernible wear to the black cloth over boards, featuring a bright interior, unmarked. Bright and shiny dust jacket, illustrated, little worn. The book was begun by Herman R. Purdy (1909-1985), then considered the world's foremost judge of cattle breeds and worth, completed by R. John Dawes, who purchased his first cow at a young age from Pennsylvania State University. 282 pp. and with notes, bibliography and index.Member, I.O.B.A., C.B.A., and adherent to the highest ethical standards.
