First edition. Red papercovered boards with black label printed in red. Bookplate remnant on front pastedown, slight and barely noticeable repair on the spine, corners rubbed, very good or better. The third prize essay (of three in the book) is by James Agee, who at the time was a student at Phillips Exeter. His photographic portrait faces the title page of his essay.
