A fine copy in a fine (price clipped) dustwrapper, which is very bright and crisp. Line drawings by John Ward. The author's most famous book, a quasi autobiographical novel, that has become a minor twentieth century classic. "I was set down from the carrier's cart at the age of three; and there with a sense of bewilderment and terror my life in the village began."
