Later she became book reviewer for the Charlotte News and a popular lecturer. Born in 1895 all during her adult life she was an active member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy and has written extensively about the Civil War especially many stories and personal accounts of her family members as they served on the battlefields and on the homefront. 9 stories including the prize winning The Chaplain s Tale .
