Nelson Algren was fascinated by the underbelly of society, a theme he returned to frequently in his works. In this revealing interviews, H. E. F. Donohue draws out Algren's personal experiences with success and the temptations that came with it. This copy includes a postcard from Algren to prominent publisher William Targ. Algren and Targ corresponded frequently, and Algren's archives at Ohio State and the Newberry Library contain numerous letters between the two. 8'' x 5.5''. Original teal cloth boards.
