This VG book is square, very clean, free of edge dings and with only very mild corner and head and heel bumps; bottom edge has very mild wear. The illustration on the front panel is in excellent condition (see photo), as is the illustration and gold lettering on the spine. Except for an inked name on the blank page preceding the half title page, the interior is completely free of writing, stray marks or page damage of any sort. There are very mild water stains affecting the front end pages (see photo) and the several pages back to the copyright page--the stains are no more than 1" in depth and are completely confined to blank spaces on the affected pages. Hinges are strong and the paper is stiff but not at all brittle; paper covering the front hinge is torn the entire length of the book but the hinge does not seem to be very much weakened.
