The first edition of the first series of this work. A second series featuring further examples of Tenniel's illustrations was published in 1871.Illustrated with a vignette to the title page, and one hundred plates, one of which is folding. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Bumping to back strip head and tail. Boards bright, with mark to tail of front board. Internally, binding failed due to gutta percha.
