A very scarce catalogue of the Italian exhibit at the Panama-Pacific International Exposition, with artworks supplies by Canessa's Galleries. The first edition of this extremely scarce catalogue of works exported by the art collector and dealer Ercole Canessa, and exhibited by the Italian Government at the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in San Francisco, in 1915. The preface explains that Italy encouraged and aided Canessa in exporting a large part of his Paris collection to San Francisco for the event. 221 items were displayed, with photographic plates of a number of these present to the rear of the work.With an illustrated rear wrap advertising Canessa's Galleries in Paris, New York and Naples. In the publisher's original paper wraps, with cord binding. Closed tear to tail of front joint and head of rear joint, with losses to back strip head and tail.
